Kazane Racing is bringing a mid-week criterium series to Roanoke. The races will be held   June 30, July 7, July 14, July 21  —AUGUST 4th DATE IS CANCELLED. Rain dates will be added to the end of the series. Races will be held on the loop around the parking lot closest to Orange Avenue (Lot E) . Here are some details:

• 2 races per night: Category 4/5 and Category 1/2/3/4.
• Cat 4 may race second race for $5 extra.
• 4/5 starts at 6PM, 1/2/3 immediately after.
• Payout will be in gift cards from several local businesses.
• Bonus sprints for various prizes each night.
• Top 5 will earn points each night for a special prize at the end (TBD).
• Riders must have a valid USA Cycling license. Beginners may purchase a one-day license at the race for $10. Buy or renew your annual license online at www.usacycling.org.
• Nightly entry fee is only $12.
• The race is sanctioned by USA Cycling so please be aware of the rules (ex: helmets must be worn, no aerobars, no sleeveless jerseys).
• We’ll announce event sponsors soon.

Roanoke Civic Center Parking Lot E

Schedule:

6 PM Category 4/5, 45 minutes/prizes

6:45 PM (Immediately following 4/5) Category 1/2/3. 60 minutes/prizes.

The course is a 0.4 mile square with 4 corners (one sweeping) in Lot E of the Civic Center. It’s 2 lanes wide and smooth – great for beginners.

Cost: $12 per night with valid USAC license ($10 extra for one-day license for beginners).

Race-day registration (if available) opens at 5:00 p.m. and closes 30 minutes before the start of each race.  Event will be postponed due to rain because the course gets very slick.  All entrants must have a current USCF license or MUST purchase a One-Day License at registration.  Riders under 18 years of age are required to have a parent’s signature.  Helmets are mandatory in all events.  No aero bars permitted.  All USCF rules apply.  Field limit is 0 35 riders/field  Women may race their category and Category 3 women may race the 4/5 race.   Held under USA Cycling permit.

DIRECTIONS: From Interstate 581/220 – Exit Orange Ave/460 West. Take right at first light (Williamson). You will see the course from this intersection. Turn into Civic Center parking lot to back right corner. From 460/Lynchburg – Take left at Williamson and follow above directions.
